Our funding enables the sports to be part of the Club School
Links and Leadership and Volunteering workstrands of the PE and
Sport Strategy for Young People.
Their work is contributing to getting more young people doing up
to five hours of sport each week, delivered through a range of
school, community and club providers..
Between 2003 -2004 and 2007-2008 the percentage of older
youngsters taking on sports volunteering roles has increased from
9% to 20%.
The percentage of 5-19 year olds taking part in club sport
has also increased from 19% in 2003-2004 to 32% in
2007-2008.
