  • Regional Strategic Lead - South West

    Working within our new Communities Directorate, you will use your expertise to broker relationships between Sport England, National Governing Bodies of sport and local partners including Local Authorities. This will include overseeing regional planning, managing day-to-day relationships with County Sports Partnerships and focusing resources for maximum benefit. In addition to managing colleagues and building a high-performing regional team, you will work closely with other Regional Strategic Leads to review progress, adjust priorities and influence government policy. Along with a degree or equivalent vocational qualification, you will need senior management experience. Certainly, your proven ability to run a department or self-contained business unit must be supported by first-class communication, advocacy and stakeholder management skills. While sporting expertise would be helpful, it is not essential. As long as you have a track record of creating successful partnerships and facilitating service delivery in a rapidly changing environment, you will quickly make your mark as part of our senior management team.

  • Business Support Administrator (North East - Part Time)

    Sport England’s strategy aims to get one million people playing and enjoying more sport by 2012. To deliver our strategy and improve efficiency, Sport England is recruiting to a part time Business Support Administrator in our Durham office. The role provides an administrative support service which ensures the effective operation of the office, projecting an efficient and professional organisation. It encompasses the administrative support to our Statutory Planning service and the team within the office. Using your administrative experience, you will provide efficient and professional support, be the first point of contact for visitors and telephone calls whilst providing basic ICT support for the day to day operation of a small office. Organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work within a busy workload are essential.

  • Strategy and Research Manager

    This is an exciting role which combines core research and analysis, based around our flagship sports participation “Active People” survey, with the opportunity to undertake wider desk research and consultation as part of our special projects work. We are looking for an experienced research professional, with the ability to interrogate and manage large databases/datasets, as well as competency in interpreting and presenting findings using charts, tables and commentary. You will also need strong project management skills, being able to manage several workstreams at once, and deliver to tight timescales. You will be working as part of our research and strategy team in London, and your work will directly contribute to the delivery of our national strategy outcomes, by providing a robust measurement of sports participation in England as well as analysing trends in participation and wider factors influencing these.

  • Trustee Sports Council Trust Company

    Sport England is seeking to recruit up to 3 people to serve as trustees of the Sports Council Trust Company. The Company owns and operates three major national sports centres, two of which - Bisham Abbey and Lilleshall – will play a key role in the preparation of British athletes for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The successful candidates will play an important role in the provision of world leading sporting opportunities at both the elite and community level.
